7.45 – 08.20 Wait for pick-up in your hotel lobby; our driver and guide will arrive in the morning to take you across the Red River Delta to Tuan Chau Marina.

12.00 – 12.30 Refresh after the journey once you have boarded the Stellar Cruise - One of the best cruises in Halong Bay. Your new 4-star deluxe vessel has all the necessary amenities for a very comfortable voyage.

We cut through the calm waters of Halong Bay as we present you with lunch in the dining room.

Afternoon

Relax aboard the Stellar Cruise as we begin sailing to Van Gia Fishing Village, one of the few remaining villages of its type in the region.

We kayak around the village learning about local life as we do so. Alternatively, you can take a bamboo boat rowed by a local, who will show us their beautiful village and give us a special insight into life here.

Swimming and snorkelling will be available at Soi Sim Beach, our next stop. Enjoy complimentary fruit and wine on the sundeck of the Stellar Cruise on the way.

Evening

Head to the bar before dinner for great deals on drinks. Dinner will be served as the moon appears atop the limestone spires, bestowing a very tranquil feeling on Halong Bay.

We will attempt to serve dinner on the outside deck if weather allows it, in order for you to feel the tranquillity for yourself. 

We will show movies on our plasma TV in the evening, or you can go cuttlefish fishing with the crew. The bar is always open for you if you do not feel like heading to bed early.

06.30 Early birds can watch the sun rise behind the limestone karsts from the top deck, with the accompaniment of a Tai Chi session providing you with a boost of energy for the day ahead.

A light breakfast will come before a trip to the ‘Surprising Cave’, one of Halong Bay’s biggest caves and the source of much wonderment from the thousands of rock formations found inside.

09.30 We return to the Stellar Cruise as you leave your bags outside your cabin and head upstairs for the educational cooking demonstration, giving you something to take back home. 

An early lunch is served in the dining room as the harbour approaches.

12.00 Step off the Stellar Cruise for the last time and step onto the bus that will take us back to Hanoi, where we will arrive in the late afternoon.

16.00 Arrive at your hotel in Hanoi Old Quarter. Your 2 day 1 night on Halong Bay overnight cruise ends.

The shuttle bus meets you outside of your hotel between 07.45 and 08.15 to take you the 3.5 hours east to Tuan Chau Harbour.

We will board the Stellar Cruise at around midday, listening to a tour briefing by the crew and enjoying a welcome drink. 

After you check into your gorgeous cabin, lunch will be served indoors or outdoors (weather permitting) as we sail past the first of the rock giants of Halong Bay. 

The first of our afternoon activities is a trip to the ‘Amazing Cave’. We will step inside to find out how this ancient cave system got its name. 

Next, we drop anchor in the placid waters around Titop Island. Here we can swim and snorkel around the island, relax on the beach or ascend the stone steps to the peak in the centre of the island that gives fantastic views over Halong Bay.

Heading back to the Stellar Cruise at around 17.30, we relax into the Sunset Party on the top deck, watching the fading red light of Halong Bay cast lengthening shadows with the limestone karsts. This is a great chance to socialise with new friends and bond over the day’s activities.

Your first dinner on board will be an authentic Vietnamese menu, after which you can grab a cocktail at the bar or unwind with a book in your cabin. 

Joining the Tai Chi session on the sundeck at 06.00 is a great idea to energise the body with a new dawn over Halong Bay. Breakfast will be served shortly afterwards, downstairs.

After boarding our day boat, we head to Me Cung Cave, one of the earliest examples of human habitation in Halong Bay and location in the past of a fully fossilised animal skeleton.

Next, we take either a locally-rowed sampan boat or a self-propelled kayak around Cua Van Fishing Village, a colourful floating hamlet where residents still live modest lives.

Lunch will be served at around noon on the day boat.

The afternoon begins with a visit to Halong Bay’s pearl farm, where you can learn of the processes of pearl cultivation from growing to harvesting.

We re-board the Stellar Cruise and are welcomed to the Sunset Party, another great chance to sip cocktails as the sun sets beyond the horizon. 

Another delicious set-menu dinner is served in our romantically lit restaurant at about 19.30.

You have the whole evening at your leisure again tonight aboard the Stellar Cruise. Perhaps you would like to choose from our selection of board games and card games or try some squid fishing with the crew outside.

You have one more chance to join the Tai Chi class on the sundeck to greet the morning light of Halong Bay before a light breakfast is served at 07.00.

We sail to the beautiful wet system of Luon Cave, a wonderful canal running under hanging stalactites through to an emerald lake enclosed by forested peaks. We can choose to kayak or be rowed by a local through this beautiful grotto as our guide points out fascinating aspects of the cave and lake. 

We head back to the Stellar Cruise at 09.00 and check out, taking our last chance to relax on the sundeck.

An informative cooking session will demonstrate how to create some delicious Vietnamese dishes before we tuck into brunch.
