Surrounded on three sides by the Cau River, Tho Ha Village is about 52km from Hanoi and is a dreamy destination with a proud trade at its heart. On the Tho Ha Village Half-Day Tour, a private guide from Incredible Asia Journeys will take you around the narrow alleys, open squares, and beautiful waterways of Tho Ha Village.
Once a bustling trade town for gom sanh pottery fired with dry grass, a gradual decline of the trade saw Tho Ha reborn as a hub for the creation of rice paper, a staple ingredient used in quintessential Vietnamese dishes like spring rolls, crispy shrimp pancakes and lemongrass and pork rolls.
Besides the trade, the ambiance of Tho Ha is reason enough to explore this quiet village in Bac Giang Province. Lacking any sort of bridge, Tho Ha is a local ferry ride away from the opposite banks of the Cau River, which gives wonderful views of the stacks of colorful plaster and terracotta brick houses. This half-day tour from Hanoi gives you the perfect morning in a serene village outside the chaos of the capital.
