Visit History Museum (closed on Mondays) or the Reunification Palace to witness the relics of the city’s tumultuous past. Walk around the city to see the Old Saigon Post Office, Dong Khoi Street (formerly Rue Catinat), Continental Hotel, Opera House and City Hall. In the late afternoon, stop by the bustling Ben Thanh Market where the wide range of goods is displayed for sales. The underground city with storage facilities, weapons factories, field hospitals, constructed living areas, command centers and innumerable of nightmare trap doors will certainly amaze you. A visit to the Cu Chi Tunnels not only brings you a poignant feeling when you witness the hardships of war but also depicts the tenacious spirit of the Vietnamese. Then, get on a private boat to experience a couple of hours of cruising on the Mekong River. Cruise along the river to visit various local workplaces, including a brick kiln factory, a coconut processing workshop and a local mat-weaving house. Afterward, you choose either of going on a cart powered by a motorbike (namely Xe Loi) or biking and traveling through some quiet villages. You will enjoy your delicious lunch at a local restaurant or on board.
In the afternoon, take sampan boat rowed by a local along the water palm creek and motorboat back to the pier. The excursion will end at around 4:00 pm where the vehicle will await you for your transfer back to Saigon.
