Experience life on the legendary Mekong River on the Cai Be Floating Market Day Trip, a tour run by Incredible Asia Journeys from the hub of Ho Chi Minh City. The Mekong is an ancient river full of much activity and a huge diversity of life across its shores.
At the delta where it exits into the South China Sea, Cai Be Floating Market has remained for about 300 years, changing little about its operations and keeping the attractive old way of life alive. This tour heads to the heart of the Cai Be Floating Market and the frenzy of shopping that ensues here every day.
We also head to the two islands of Tan Phong and An Binh, both of which contribute to Tien Giang Province’s huge output of fruit via the orchards that make up a lot of the islands. We will see many examples of traditional handicrafts across the two islands, allowing time for you to purchase any genuine articles you might want to bring back as a souvenir. Join the Cai Be Floating Market Day Trip for the perfect glimpse of life in the breathtaking Mekong Delta.

Ut Trinh House
Activities: Experiencing vendor life in the Mekong Delta at Cai Be market before heading to the islands for a closer look at the region’s workshops and the beautiful architecture to be found here.
Our private car will pick you up at about 07.00 am to transfer you to Cai Be in the Mekong Delta.
We head out on a boat when we arrive at Cai Be, absorbing the engrossing sights of frantic business on the Mekong River as vendors and buyers haggle over prices.
Our first stop will be Tan Phong Island, where we can stroll or cycle around the many attractions such as exotic fruit orchards, churches and pagodas, schools and traditional houses. Around the island, age-old handicrafts like rice paper-making and thatching cottage roofs with coconut leaves still exist; we will see examples of these as well as how the locals make many vital products out of dried water hyacinth flowers.
A small rowing boat will take us along some narrow canals flanked by tall water palms, a wonderful site that certainly requires a camera to capture the full majesty. Returning to our main boat, we head towards An Binh Island and a local Ut Trinh house in order to have lunch. After this, we will stroll around the adjacent orchards to learn about the tropical fruits grown here, enjoying tea and the ambience created by traditional Vietnamese music in the ancient house as we do so.
The handicrafts made on An Binh Island include some delicious coconut candy and rice popcorn; we take a brief look at these crafts while also trying some out. Our last stop will be to see some examples of pottery firing at the brick kilns. After this, our cruise pulls up to the harbour at Vinh Long City, from where we will catch our car back to Ho Chi Minh City.
Our Cai Be Floating Market Day Trip ends at your hotel in Ho Chi Minh City around 06.30 PM. We sincerely appreciate your interest in our services; we hope we have the chance to serve you again in the future.
