At Incredible Asia Journeys, we know that different people have wildly different views on what constitutes a ‘holiday’. We offer many different types of package tours around Vietnam, suited to fit the wide spectrum of tourists that come to our beautiful country in search of sightseeing, adventure or relaxation.
Sightseeing covers both natural sites and architectural sites, for which UNESCO has designated world heritage status upon 8 in Vietnam, while plenty more await consideration. For mountains, it’s best to head to Mai Chau or Sapa, while the best water sites can be found at Ba Be Lake and Ban Gioc Waterfall. You can find architectural splendour throughout the country, but perhaps best at Hoi An, My Son and Cao Dai.
For those best suited to an active life, our Vietnam tour packages cater for you perfectly. Try the trekking around Sapa, Cuc Phuong and Mai Chau, the cycling in Tam Coc and Viet Hai, swimming and kayaking at Ban Gioc Waterfall and Ba Be Lake, and cave visits throughout Halong Bay and the astounding Phong Nha Caves.
Hit the beaches of Nha Trang and Mui Ne for the ultimate beach holiday, or perhaps the idyllic sands of Halong Bay, Bai Tu Long Bay and Lan Ha Bay, which make up the northern contingent of our most relaxing Vietnam tour packages. We have tours that visit the picture-perfect Cham Islands and Phu Quoc Island, but it is often the boat rides along the serene canals of Trang An, Tam Coc and the Mekong Delta that keep tourists coming back for more.
All of our tour packages around Vietnam with domestic airfare can be taken at any point in the year, but for reasons relating to weather and the timing of festivals and harvests, it is best to book during the following times:
• The north of the country has four distinct seasons: summer, autumn, winter and spring.
• Summer is very hot and humid, with flashes of monsoon rains pouring from the sky, while winter can get a little bit chilly and grey, obscuring the best views of Halong Bay’s limestone mountains and Ninh Binh’s rice paddies.
• Spring and autumn are certainly the best times to visit northern Vietnam for the moderate weather, small amounts of rainfall and clear skies offering beautiful views over the valleys of Sapa and the shimmering surface of Ba Be Lake.
• There are just two seasons in the central areas of Vietnam: dry and wet.
• The wet is characterised by very hot temperatures, a muggy atmosphere and deluges of rain falling over several hours per day. This happens towards the end of the year, from September to the end of December.
• The dry is the perfect time to head to central Vietnam. You will be able to enjoy the cooler weather and very little chance of a rainy day. Hours of sunshine are also long during this period between February and August, where you can get a tan on the many beaches and islands available throughout the region.
• As is the case with the centre of the country, the weather in Vietnam’s south falls into either the wet or dry category.
• The wet here falls at a different time to that of the centre; usually around the same time as Hanoi’s summer – from June to September.
• The dry season lands over what are the colder months in the north and the wetter months in the centre. These are the ideal times to visit the Mekong Delta in order to soak up the laid-back atmosphere of sampan boats and swaying palm trees.
