Enjoy the feeling of unadulterated freedom on the Sapa Motorbike 2-day Tour operated by Incredible Asia Journeys, the best and most local way to see the grandeur of the gorgeous region of Sapa. This province in the very northern reaches of Vietnam has some of the most treasured scenery around the country. Only in Sapa can you find such a scale of towering mountain ranges, beautifully tiered rice paddies, and the quaint village roads that run between them, all of which combine to create an ancient ambiance and a long-established reverence within visitors.
For both days on the Sapa Motorbike 2-day Tour, we will travel by self-driven motorbike, meeting many of the wonderful and diverse hill tribes that call Sapa home. We visit the Black H’mong, the Giay, the Tay, and the Red Dao hill tribes in their native villages, learning about their colorful clothes and humble customs. We will enjoy the warm hospitality of a Tay family as we share dinner with them and stay overnight in their beautiful homestay.

Activities: Descending into the Muong Hoa Valley and passing several villages and natural attractions until the village of Thanh Phu, where we settle for the night in bamboo huts.
At 05:00 AM, once you have arrived in Lao Cai on your overnight train, exit the station and locate the guide holding a sign with your name. We will take the hour-long bus ride up to Sapa along hilly roads and along the sides of steeped rice paddies.
We will eat breakfast in Sapa Town before climbing onto our motorbikes and heading out into this gorgeous region along its winding roads.
Follow the guide as we descend into the Muong Hoa Valley, while the mountains rise up all around us. We continue to Lao Chai and Ta Van, two respective enclaves of the Black H’mong and Giay ethnic minorities. We will take short breaks in these places and speak to some of the locals about daily life in the mountains.
After driving through more of Sapa’s astounding landscape, we arrive at the village of Ban Ho, where we can take a walk to a beautiful waterfall nearby. We return to Ban Ho and have a special lunch with a member of the Tay ethnic minority, seizing the opportunity to learn more about a remote and unique culture that was untouched by civilisation until relatively recently.
The afternoon’s ride takes us to two more Tay villages, Nam Sai and Thanh Phu. At Thanh Phu, we park our bikes for the night and help our local Tay host to cook dinner before we settle down for the night in bamboo huts, with an untainted and mesmerising sky high above us.

Activities: Continuing along the course of the Muong Hoa Valley before having a scenic lunch. Heading to the lesser-known area around Ta Thang and heading back to Lao Cai for the return train to Hanoi.
We will have breakfast and wave goodbye to our Tay host family at Thanh Phu. We get back onto our bikes and follow the line of the trekking route along the valley floor, with more stunning views abounding on all sides. We will drive towards Sin Chai village and the many houses of the Red Dao community living here.
We relax at Sin Chai and find a scenic area for our lunch. Speak to the welcoming locals here to discover the significance of the large red hats atop their heads.
Continuing along the road, we enter into some of the less explored areas of Sapa, where foreigners still remain an amusing novelty for the local children. We skirt the banks of the Red River, discovering the ubiquitous mountains and the hardy farmers who till the rice paddies lying in their shadows.
We will meet more Tay people at the village of Ta Thang, taking a moment to rest in their wonderful company before we drive the flat road back to Lao Cai. Here, you will say goodbye to your guide and have time to freshen up and make your own arrangements for dinner. Board the night train to Hanoi when it arrives.
The Sapa Motorbike 2 day Tour finishes here. We are very grateful for your company on this tour of Sapa from Hanoi. We very much hope that we can serve you again in the future!
