This North Vietnam & Sapa Excursions offered by Incredible Asia Journeys is a new group trekking tour around the phenomenal Sapa region in Northern Vietnam. On this tour, we focus on your interaction with members of Sapa’s various hill tribes, staying at two homestays from two different ethnic minorities and meeting many others along the way. We see where and how they live, with their contoured rice paddies descending the beautiful Sapa mountains to the valleys below.

We can see glorious forests of bamboo, imposing rocky mountains, and the cascading Lavie Waterfall. The Sapa Homestay 3-Day Tour offers trekkers a comprehensive feel of Sapa through its diverse itinerary and freedom for self-exploration.

Itinerary

Activities: Get picked up at Lao Cai, meet the Black H’mong, have a picturesque lunch and settle down in Ta Van for the night.

After your arrival at Lao Cai Train Station, we will pick you up via bus and take you to Sapa Town in time for breakfast.

We head out from Sapa to the villages of Y Linh Ho and Lao Chai, homes to the Black H’mong hill tribe that are famous in the area. The views from these villages and surrounding areas offer stunning panoramas of the prized Sapa scenery.

Taking a local path to the base of the valley, we rest in a picturesque area with rice terraces rising up around us: the perfect spot for lunch. There are locally-run stalls here that provide great snacking options for the road.

We carry on through the middle of the Muong Hoa Valley to the village of Ta Van. This is the residence of the Zay people and it is where we will be spending the night in a traditional Zay homestay.

Accommodation: Homestay in Sapa

Activities: Have breakfast in Ta Van, meet villagers at Giang Ta Chai and relax in Ban Ho.

A traditional breakfast in the Zay homestay will be followed by a trek through bamboo forest and over a bridge towards Giang Ta Chai Village and its colourful, smiling Red Dao inhabitants.

We will settle near a waterfall to have lunch before continuing up the hill to Hau Thao Village, past the undulating rice paddies flanked by mountains that lead to Ban Ho village.

We will be eating and staying the night with a member of the Tay hill tribe in their traditional wooden stilt house.

Accommodation: Homestay in Sapa

Activities: Wake up in beautiful Ban Ho, press on to Nam Toong , unwind at Lavie Waterfall and board your train back to Hanoi.

Enjoy your final breakfast of the tour and we will begin our trek upwards towards Nam Toong Village, owned by the Red Dao people. We will chat to them here and possibly pick up a few souvenirs before leaving.

After this, we have a trek to the beautiful, tumbling Lavie Waterfall in order to have a refreshing swim and get some beautiful pictures of the iconic Vietnamese scene.

We head back to Ban Ho for a final lunch with our Tay hosts, heading back to Sapa town afterward by car. In the late afternoon, our shuttle bus will transfer you to Lao Cai Train Station for you to catch your overnight train back to Hanoi.
