Itinerary

Activities: Relaxing into a speedboat journey up the Saigon River, exploring the Cu Chi Tunnels and returning to Ho Chi Minh City by speedboat.

At 07.00 am, our guide will collect you from your hotel and take you in a car to Ho Chi Minh Pier, where a sleek, luxury speedboat awaits you.

Make use of both your camera and the unlimited onboard refreshments (including a light breakfast) as we zip down the Saigon River to the Cu Chi Tunnels, with a transit time of about one hour.

There will be a short film put on for us upon arriving at the Cu Chi Tunnels, after which we will descend into the passageways and explore many sections of the underground network. The 125-mile (200km) system was an unprecedented feat of engineering, housing various weapons storage facilities as well as living quarters, conference rooms and basic hospitals throughout the American War. The area of Cu Chi was the site of intense bombing campaigns, but the Viet Cong inside the tunnels survived, plotting the fall of Saigon that was eventually realised in 1975. Take the challenge to try to locate the incredibly well-camouflaged tunnel entrances and find the other historical relics including an abandoned tank.

Lunch will be served in a local restaurant before we climb back onto the speedboat. We head southeast back to Saigon, where we will drive you back to your hotel upon arrival, dropping you off at around 13.00 pm and signalling the end of the Cu Chi Tunnels by Speedboat tour.
