History and religion combine on the Cu Chi Tunnels and Cao Dai Temple Day Trip. This is a two-part tour operated by Incredible Asia Journeys, starting at your hotel in Ho Chi Minh City, visiting the incredible Cao Dai Temple before having lunch, and moving onto the expansive Cu Chi Tunnels before returning to Ho Chi Minh City.
Cao Dai Temple is a truly unique mixture of art, architectural brilliance, and religion, about 90km northwest of Ho Chi Minh City. Caodaism is a religion that combines pieces of existing religions in their teachings, which is reflected in the eclectic mix of vibrant color, religious symbols, and the mishmash of Christian, Buddhist, Hindu, Islamic architecture, and more. Next, we visit the Cu Chi Tunnels, where thousands of Vietnamese lived and schemed during the American War. Conditions in the tunnels were very tough, and you can get a first-hand account of the trials and tribulations suffered by the Viet Cong as they fought a dogged conflict from underground.
Join Incredible Asia Journeys on the Cu Chi Tunnels and Cao Dai Temple Day Trip for a look at one of Vietnam’s most fascinating religions, as well as its turbulent modern history.

Activities: Visit Cao Dai Temple and explore Cu Chi Tunnels to learn more about Vietnam history
Please wait in your hotel in Ho Chi Minh City until 08.00 am, our private car will pick you up and transport you about two hours northwest to the Cao Dai Temple in Tay Ninh Province.
We will take a look at the outstanding architecture of the Cao Dai Great Temple with its elements of many other world religions. The colour and style of the interior and exterior are utterly unique, and we will admire its grandeur during midday mass, where monks adorned in vibrant robes perform spellbinding chants.
We will enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before continuing on to our second attraction, the Cu Chi Tunnels. One of the most impressive relics of the American War is a 200km-long system of tunnels, which shielded Viet Cong soldiers from the Americans and allowed them a space to live and plot in secret. We can step down into the tunnels and see how these resolute Vietnamese lived for the duration of the war. Our tour takes us around hospital rooms, weapons facilities, family housing and many logistical strokes of genius employed by the Viet Cong.
Before heading back to Ho Chi Minh City, we will sample a hearty cassava dish that helped the Viet Cong soldiers through the war. We will drop you off at your hotel in the late afternoon and your Cu Chi Tunnels and Cao Dai Temple Full Day Tour will come to a close. Our warmest gratitude for selecting this day tour from Ho Chi Minh City, we hope to have the privilege of serving you again.
