ThailandMy girlfriend booked this trip for us but refused to tell me anything about it, so it would all be a surprise – she even slapped the phone out of my hand while I was trying to research the Signature Royal Cruise! I can safely say that everything was a total success and I was indeed, very surprised! You can see all the other boats in the bay when you arrive and I was thrilled when the Signature Royal Cruise came into view, as it is easily one of the best looking boats in the bay. We were welcomed on by the ever-vigilant Vinh, who welcomed us personally and showed us onto the boat.My girlfriend had opted for the boat that had 16 cabins, which we found to be the perfect size as it wasn’t too small or too big. We never felt crowded and we got to talk to many other passengers over the course of the cruise. The junior suite that we stayed in didn’t have the private balcony that most of the other rooms had, but we did get a very nice room, an electric heated toilet and a jacuzzi – can’t really turn your nose up at that! The 2 day 1 night cruise was plenty sufficient for us. We didn’t feel the need to stay in Halong Bay any longer, and unless you’re some kind of artist or yogi, I’d say the same. It was beautifully calm the whole time and we had some very ethereal fog at one point, which created some very nice images. We took a fisherman boat around the local floating village, did a fun cooking class, visited a cave and did some tai chi on the roof of the boat. Actually, we stayed in the super comfy bed instead as it started at 6am! Happy hour was also a very nice time of day for us!I was a little wary of potential seasickness but there was absolutely nothing, it’s even less bumpy than a car. Very smooth sailing and completely still at night.Beautiful work by the staff of the Signature Royal Cruise and much love to the company for provided such an excellent itinerary and service! We will be back for sure.

ChinaMe and my daughter joined a 2 day cruise at the last minute. We didn’t know what to expect because of the sporadic nature with which we booked the trip, but we received such a great service throughout the 2 days. Our driver was of the more conservative variety, waiting patiently and not trying to force his way through traffic jams. We got to Halong Bay safely and ready to cruise.Check-in was simple and quick and we were on our way. The rooms that we got were very comfortable and of a very decent size. Ours was on the lower deck and had an extra reception area for sitting. The bathroom had a jacuzzi but we didn’t have a balcony. We didn’t feel like we were missing out on anything though as we always headed to the top deck for the fully panoramic views that you get up there. No problems with the electricity or hot water throughout the cruise, but the wifi was a little bit spotty, which is to be expected. There were many videos for our entertainment but they all featured a bit too much action and violence for our Mr. Darcy-like tastes. The food was of outstanding quality the whole way through. We ate a LOT of seafood and other tasty little morsels of food. They check with you beforehand to see if you can/want to eat what’s on the menu, then tailor it specifically to everyone on board and bring out all the courses at the same time! Incredible work. There’s a big consensus for safety on this cruise and we were always given lifejackets and made sure that we knew how to kayak. The excursions themselves were good fun, especially the kayaking.Great cruise overall and we really couldn’t have been happier with our choice of Signature Royal Cruise!

It was a big group of 7 that went on the Signature Royal Cruise. That’s quite a lot of people to please and yet we were dealt with in a really friendly and professional manner. There wasn’t a single thing that the staff couldn’t do for us and we were very grateful for the solid commitment they showed to their passengers. The food was insanely tasty and the family quite with comfortable beds, balconies and bathrooms was stupendous. You know you’re in for a luxurious time when you discover your Japanese toilet had a heated seat! Not sure why you would ever need that in Halong Bay, but it’s a nice touch! My word – the balcony. We were amazed at how big it was, and looked about twice as big as the pictures on the website had us believe. All 7 of us fit comfortably on there, so we didn’t really head to the top deck other than for the dinner and the tai chi in the morning. We’d had a great cruise before around Halong Bay with another company, but Signature Royal Cruise topped it even further. They really did everything for us and we can’t thank the staff enough! Thank you Vinh and team, and special thanks for taking special care of my son - you’re all troopers!

We decided to go with the luxury van because of the long nature of the ride to Halong Bay. The crew greeted us in a warm manner as we arrived at the boat and took our luggage on board for us. Our Vinh was a great host, as was Ellie and her team in the restaurant. The Senior Suite that we booked blew us away as it looked even better than the professional photos on the website. We absolutely loved the balcony and the other small touches that really added up to making it special, like the décor and the little bits of furnishing around the place. All the food was top quality and they had zero problems in dealing with my wife, who is a vegetarian. The activities that we did in the bay were brilliant – especially the fishing village visit and the pearl farm that we saw on the second day. It was so relaxing there and there were no other boats around. We went to a cave on the third day, which was not all that exciting but it did give great views of the bay. There was a lot of queuing just as we were making our way out, as there is only one entrance and exit. Still, we have not been on a cruise that we have enjoyed as much as the Signature Royal Cruise. It was completely stress-free and an absolutely fantastic trip all round!

It was certainly an interesting ride between Hanoi and Halong Bay to start us off. It wasn’t a bad experience, but it was very exciting, as driving into the paths of oncoming trucks seems to be a bit of a trait for Vietnamese drivers. Nevertheless, we made it in one piece and were checked onto the boat in an efficient manner. We were then in the hands of the cruise manager, Vinh. He and his staff treated us so well and they were all highly trained professionals in everything they did. They spent a lot of time getting to know us, but also gave us a lot of space when we wanted it. They had placed a cake and some roses in the room as they had remembered that it was my sister’s birthday. The room itself was fantastic and the star of the show was that gorgeous balcony, where we ended up spending a lot of time. Food was of consistently high quality and the drinks were a reasonable price.Incredible staff, great cruise and beautiful Halong Bay. I can’t see why I wouldn’t be back.
