Our wide selection of mid-range cruises of Halong Bay is ideal for first time visitors looking for the perfect balance between activities around the bay and unwinding on board. Halong Bay deluxe cruises blend both, focusing not only on your relaxation but also on your exploration of the UNESCO World Heritage site.
Even the longer itineraries of Halong Bay feature a small amount of cherry-picked activities, whether it be a visit to a cave, an island or a fishing village, and the regular 3 day, 2 night itineraries see maybe 10% of the overall majesty of Halong Bay. This is why Halong Bay deluxe cruises maximise their time on the bay: to give you a feeling, for however brief a time, of what life is like in this watery labyrinth of limestone spires perforating the calm water’s surface.
That being said, these deluxe cruises give you a tough choice between activities and personal time on board, as amenities are at a very high, 4-star standard. Cabins are spacious and full of natural light because of the large windows covering the walls. Bathrooms are clean and professional, while entire living quarters are decorated with classical Vietnamese themes, matched with thick mattresses and modern comforts; a perfect cross-cultural harmony.
Dining rooms are sleek and comfortable, affording you gently lit views of Halong Bay at nighttime. Food, while not of the most extravagant forms found on luxury cruises is delicious and filling, and can be eaten in most cases on the beautiful sundecks when Halong Bay’s gorgeous weather is in full flow.
The staff are incredibly hospitable and have a genuine eagerness to show you part of their home, for however brief a time your stay is within it. They understand your need for privacy but are also very sociable with all of our guests, providing a friendly atmosphere on board where everyone is welcome.
Below is a brief example of an itinerary from a deluxe cruise in Halong Bay:
Day 1: Hanoi - Halong Bay Cruising (L/D)
Board your new floating home to a beautiful lunch laid out in our spacious restaurant, before heading upstairs to catch the first of Halong Bay’s iconic rocky mountains glide by in front of you.
Our first stop for the day is Sung Sot Cave, one of the many magnificent and complex systems found in the mountains of Halong Bay. We roam around the various stalactite and stalagmite outcrops and discover how this cave got its English translation of ‘the Amazing Cave’
Next, we sail to Titop Island, home of white sand, gently wavering waters and a climb up 400 stone steps to reach the peak of the island, from where Halong Bay’s gorgeous junk boats can be seen passing in front of undulating mountains stretching for miles.
Returning to your Halong Bay deluxe cruise, you can settle into our sunset party on the sundeck, a great chance to enjoy Happy Hour drinks with old and new friends.
Dinner will be served downstairs in the dining room before you can take your pick of the evening activities we have on offer. These include board games or card games, social drinks at the bar or a new experience of squid fishing off the back of the main boat.
Day 2: Halong Bay Discovering (B/L/D)
Soak up the morning vibrations with Tai Chi on the sundeck, the perfect way to start another gorgeous day in Halong Bay.
A full breakfast will be served downstairs in the restaurant, after which we will board our more nimble day boat and head to Trong Cave, exploring its most fascinating of rock formations and learning of the various legends bestowed unto them by locals.
Relax on the day boat as lunch is served. We begin cruising to Vung Vieng Floating Village and its pearl farm, where you can discover the various processes that go into pearl production in the region.
Returning in the late afternoon to your Halong Bay deluxe cruise, you will have time to relax before indulging in another Sunset Party with Happy Hour drink prices.
Move downstairs for dinner in our romantic restaurant as the sun falls on Halong Bay. Afterwards, we have our usual evening activities on offer. Perhaps you would prefer to relax in your cabin with a movie tonight.
Day 3: Halong Bay Cruising - Hanoi (B/L)
Take the opportunity for a final Tai Chi session upstairs in the perfect pink light of a Halong Bay morning.
We enjoy a light lunch before heading out for our final kayaking excursion in some of the secluded areas of Halong Bay.
On the cruise back to the harbour, we pass famous islands such as Dog Islet and the Fighting Cock Islands as a skillful fruit carving demonstration is laid on by one of our chefs.
Savour your final filling brunch before we arrive back at the pier, waving goodbye to the friendly crew and boarding the shuttle bus service back to Hanoi.
